HAIR
A book about female hairgrowth entirely made out of hair. The book contains haikus's and the concept has come from a desire to change the prevailing taboo regarding the female body hair. The book is set with cross stitches on embroidery fabric with synthetic hair that illustrate the hair left after shaving.
BACHELOR DEGREE PROJECT
MANE / BODY HAIR CARE
For my bachelor degree project I created the brand "Mane" with a series of products designed for body hair such as pubic hair oil, armpit hair gel, leg hair brush and armpit hair extensions. These products symbolise the female liberation from the hairless norm and women's right to choose whether to shave or to be hairy.
Marvelous Mane is a magazine with the goal to make female hair growth visible and thus contribute to its normalization. The magazine serves as a symbol for the female liberation from the hairless norm.
I choose to incorporate elements of humour but also wanted the project to feel "real".
